Draft Constitution, May 2007

Mazarron is a town situated in the region of Murcia, Spain. Early in 2006, a group of people came together to try to form a bowls club in the area. At the present time (May 2008), there are more than 100 people who have joined the Bowls Club and the number is increasing all the time.

At the meeting on March 1st, attended by 50 of the 61 fully paid-up members at the time, two proposals were put to the meeting, after an explanation of the recent history of negotiations. They were:

1. The Committee of MBC proposes that the club locate to the green at Hacienda Del Alamo for its future bowling activities.

2   That at the forthcoming AGM on April 19th at 1430 at Mariano's, the present management committee will stand down and a new bowls committee will be formed to organize the activities of the club.

Both proposals were passed unanimously.

The club now invites applications for Mazarron Bowls Club and also the Hacienda Bowls Club. For the remainder of this year (March 1st to December 31st, or part thereof), the fees will be:

Mazarron Bowls Club only  €25

MBC and Hacienda Del Alamo for individuals  €325

MBC and Hacienda Del Alamo for couples   €550

Further to this meeting, the Club is now actively engaged in Club activities at Hacienda Del Alamo. Bowling takes place on Tuesday morning, Thursday morning and Saturday morning. Presently, the start time is 1030, but after May 15th, this will be brought forward to 1000 as the heat builds for the summer.

Tuesday play takes the form of an organized roll up and shots are accumulated for an informal table.

Thursday play consists of a Triples League. Teams have 5 members, of which 3 play in any given game.

Saturdays are dedicated to informal play and coaching.

A new competition will start soon on Wednesday evening, taking the form of a pairs ladder.
